Terms of Service
Last updated: 19 May 2026
1. Provider
Recipelize (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by Casper, based in Denmark. Contact: admin@recipelize.com.
2. Scope & Acceptance
These Terms govern your access to and use of the Recipelize website, applications, and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, or have verifiable parental/guardian consent where required by your national law. You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
4. Your Account
- You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for activity on your account.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access.
- We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms or applicable law.
5. User Content & Licence
You retain ownership of recipes, comments, ratings, images and other content you submit (“User Content”). By posting User Content you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for technical purposes, publish, display and distribute it within the Service and to promote the Service. This licence ends for new uses when you delete the content, except where copies persist in back-ups or where other users have already saved it.
You warrant that you have the rights necessary to grant this licence and that your User Content does not infringe third-party rights or applicable law.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- post illegal, infringing, deceptive, hateful, harassing, sexually exploitative, or violent content;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation;
- scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service;
- upload malware, spam, or unsolicited advertising;
- collect personal data of other users without a lawful basis.
7. Illegal Content & DSA Notice-and-Action
In line with Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act), any person may notify us of content they consider illegal by emailing admin@recipelize.com or by using the in-product report button. Notices should identify the content, explain why it is illegal, and include the notifier’s contact details and a good-faith statement. We will assess notices in a timely, non-arbitrary and objective manner and inform the notifier of our decision and available redress (including internal complaint handling and out-of-court dispute settlement).
8. Moderation & Suspension
We may remove or restrict User Content, suspend or terminate accounts, with notice where reasonably possible and giving the reasons required by the DSA, where User Content or conduct breaches these Terms or applicable law.
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, including software, design, trademarks and logos, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited rights expressly granted to you in these Terms, no rights are transferred to you.
10. Paid Features & Right of Withdrawal
Recipelize is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features, EU consumers will be informed beforehand and will benefit from the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU, except where you have expressly requested immediate performance of a digital service and acknowledged losing that right.
11. Advertising
The Service may display advertising. Ads are clearly distinguishable from editorial content. See our Cookie Policy for how consent is obtained for advertising cookies in the EU.
12. Disclaimers
User Content is provided by community members and not verified by us. Recipes may contain allergens or errors; always exercise your own judgement, especially regarding food safety, allergens, and dietary requirements. The Service is provided “as available”, subject to the mandatory consumer guarantees under EU and national law.
13. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for any liability that cannot be excluded under EU or applicable national law.
Subject to the above, our aggregate liability for any damages arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to foreseeable damages typical for the kind of contract concerned.
14. Termination
You may close your account at any time from your dashboard. We may terminate or suspend the Service or your access, with reasonable notice where appropriate, for legal, security or operational reasons. Termination does not affect rights already accrued.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect legal or product changes. Material changes will be notified at least 30 days in advance by email or in-product notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
16. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules of the country in which you habitually reside. Disputes may be brought before the courts of your place of residence or our seat.
EU consumers may use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not obliged to participate in alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
